Professional Solar Panel Treatment

Application Protocol: SolarTeflon® Proprietary Surface Treatment

Professional Application Guide — Installers & Maintenance Crews

Purpose

Provide a standardized, efficient method for servicing small-to-midsize commercial arrays (communities, schools, small businesses), delivering a high-value maintenance service that extends system ROI.

Preparation

  • Scheduling: Apply during low solar intensity (early morning or overcast) to maximize dwell time.
  • Site assessment: Inspect for damage, coating failures, or unusual soiling before work begins.
  • Cleaning protocol: Clean and decontaminate with deionized water systems when available. Surfaces must be completely dry before application.
  • Equipment: SolarTeflon® Commercial Kit, battery-powered fine-mist sprayer, soft looped-pile microfiber applicator pads, high-pile microfiber buffing towels, safety gloves and PPE.

Application Steps

Step 1 – Load sprayer with solution
Load: Transfer SolarTeflon® solution to the sprayer and gently agitate the tank before use.
Step 2 – Fine mist on panel
Mist: Using a fine-mist setting, spray the panel in a controlled vertical sweep, covering 1–2 panels at a time.
Step 3 – Spread with applicator pad
Spread: Immediately spread into a thin, even layer with a damp microfiber applicator using overlapping linear strokes.
Step 4 – Reaction haze
React: Allow to dwell for approximately 60 seconds. A light haze indicates the reaction phase.
Step 5 – Buff to clarity
Buff & Polish: Using a fresh, dry high-pile microfiber towel, buff until the haze disappears and the panel is streak-free.
Step 6 – Low-angle inspection
Inspect: Sight across the panel at a low angle to confirm a flawless, streak-free finish. Rework any areas as needed.

Aftercare & Documentation

  • Curing: Allow a full 24-hour cure before prolonged environmental exposure when practical.
  • Service record: Record application date, weather conditions, technician, product batch number, and photos of representative treated panels.
  • Maintenance cycle: Reapply every 12–18 months depending on local environmental factors and soiling rates.
  • Client guidance: Provide a dated certificate of application and the recommended next service date.
